Activities take place across a number of venues on Monday March 27th.

The Swim School Tour departs from the Stamford Grand Hotel, and joins the Teaching Stream delegates for lunch before returning to the Stamford Grand Hotel.

The Teaching Stream is held at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre

Registration for the Business Stream of conference occurs at the Stamford Grand Hotel on Monday afternoon.

Finally, the ASSA Vorgee welcome drinks (ticketed event) will be held at the Moseley Hotel from 5.30pm.

This session will outline the programs run at John Carew Swim School, the benefits and continued relevance for today's learn to swim and water safety programs. Highlighting the skills that can be taught, the language that should be used, and the expectations of the 3 important stages of child developments: 6-12 months; 1-2 years, 2-3 years; for learning to swim and water safety.

Practical strategies and techniques to assist teachers who work with students who are neurodiverse or have challenging behaviours. What behaviours do you SEE in your lessons? WHY are these behaviours happening? What can you DO to ensure a successful lesson for all participants, including yourself?
The speakers will discuss the relevance of observational skills and the importance of gaining knowledge of challenging behaviours and neurodiversity. Ruth and Lyn have had a lifetime of experience and offer practical strategies, techniques and equipment which are used and can be implemented straight away into your next lesson.

The Learn to Swim Ecosystem - PWC Report Findings

Royal Life Saving and PricewaterhouseCoopers delivered a report late last year which mapped the learn to swim ecosystem across Australia and sought to understand how the system could be improved. The report includes recommendations to maximise the potential of learn to swim and improve our nation's swimming and water safety skills, which will assist in reducing the generational risk of drowning.

This presentation will share the three-year journey to obtaining ISO certification for environmental and energy management system how we moved our venue to carbon neutral!
The questions are always, Is zero achievable to old venues? What can I do? Where can I start, and does it actually work? We will look at the journey, the learning and what we did to decrease our footprint and meet international benchmarks.
